Vericore Implant Bar
May 4, 2010
Had a client email me yesterday regarding a case on which we had completed a “Teeth-in-a-Day” temporary prosthesis about five months ago. The patient is now ready for the final prosthesis which will be a Hybrid Denture on 5 Biomet 3i Conical Abutments using a wraparound design.
While in Chicago for Lab Day, I had the chance to visit with Stuart Steinbock of Whip Mix to discuss the new Vericore Implant Bars. He represented that Whip Mix had invested in some pretty awe-inspiring scanning technology, which coupled with their ability to mill Grade 4 Titanium gave him the capability to produce implant bars with a fit as accurate as 8 microns.
We’ve tried other bar milling systems, notably NobelBiocare and Biomet 3i, with pretty good results. However, Stuart and his crew have always provided us with great customer service and they consistently “undersell” their abilities, so I’m pretty jacked to give them a try.
We’ll photograph this case as it goes through the process, and show the results here.
