New 3Shape Anatomy Library
November 10, 2009
First off, my apologies for being a little incommunicado the last couple of days – had a lot going on, and just didn’t get around to writing anything for the blog…
Now for the news…
Our 3Shape software was updated yesterday with a new anatomy library that has been designed specifically for use with milled Full Zirconia Crowns (FZC). I think I’ve mentioned before that the new software already sported a new library when we took delivery of the scanner – the C15 library looks great on screen, and when we output it to our 3D Systems ProJet printer. However, our vendor determined that some of the detail present in a printed pattern was being lost during the milling process due to the diameter of the some of the tooling.
This new library has anatomical pits and fissures which are designed to compensate for the limitations of the machining process. We’ll do a few a units a take some photos to show the difference in the upcoming days.

Hi!
I’m a hungarian dental technician. I have a 3 Shape D250 Scanner, Wieland Dental Designer Software.I’m intersting in digital anatomical waxup. Can you give me advice where can i find more anatomical crown in the internet.I have only a few and i want to make different anatomical crowns. Here in Europe the distributor said:I can’t help you…
My machine came pre-loaded with several anatomical libraries. I believe the retailer – Glidewell Dental Labs in Newport Beach, CA, USA – developed some of the libraries in-house, but I could be wrong. And, I believe there is a way to create your own custom libraries by waxing each tooth in your own style and then scanning it into a library. Not quite sure how this is done, but you could contact your local rep who may have that information. Good luck and thanks for reading.
Hello all you can acctually add as many new anatomy libaries as you want. just either need to wax, build in porcelian or use a denture tooth. the choose is yours
